A Long Way To Happy
A lot of thinking in a day has taught me a few lessons:
1. You don't get the one you want by disproving others, you do it by proving yourself.
2. A lie will be believed over the truth any day, as long as the one who hears the lie wants to believe it.
3. Running away from something in your head never works because you end up bringing it with you wherever you go.
4. It takes more courage to not kill yourself than it does to actually try.
5. Sometimes you never get closure from a person or situation and it will most likely either haunt you your entire life, or fade once you have convinced yourself of how the outcome would've been. Only the lucky ones get to see the truth months or years later.
6. Good friends are hard to find, and harder to keep.
7. Don't ask questions you know you don't want to know the answer to.
8. Sometimes you have to look deep into things others say so that you can understand them. To take something someone says at face value all the time would indicate that we all think alike and our logic and thought process are all the same, but sadly, that's not the case.
9. I only wanted to be numb to stop me from feeling things, but now that I have experienced the feelings I have for the past few months, I'd rather cry everyday than lose it.
10. Putting up walls as a defense mechanism not only keeps people from getting in, but prevents you from getting out..think about that.
11. It's still unclear which is worse: Lying about your feelings to hurt someone, or lying to make them happy. The first one protects you, the second one protects someone else, either way you really care and it probably sucks to be you pretty bad.
12. Realizing that you may have permanently lost the only real form of love from someone else you've ever known is crappy.
13. Things aren't always what they seem. If it looks like I'm over you, that's you believing the lie cause you want to.
14. People who have hurt you by leaving and being with someone else will always try to justify their actions by saying you deserve better, but that raises more questions, like why does that new person deserve them but not you, with all your heartache and suffering cause you're in love, don't?
15. It's easier to be in love with someone you don't really know than it is to be with someone you love but has hurt you.
16. It's strange how a memory can be amazing to one person, and crappy to another.
17. Just when you think you've lost all hope, you find a little bit in the most unlikely places.
18. It's impossible for someone to be worth losing but also worth thinking about a lot. These are the ones who always come back in the end, so hold on for the ride if it's worth it.
19. I don't always have someone new in my life..in the words of a close friend of mine..I have "an endless string of cameos from people in the past." This is because of the previous lesson stated above.
20. If someone affected your life in an insanely horrible way...don't hate them for it, embrace it and use it as a learning experience.
21. If being miserable over someone is the only way to hang on to them and have them in your life, then go right the hell ahead and do it. Sometimes a bad feeling is better than no feeling at all.
And last but not least...
22. Sometimes it takes people a lot longer to realize something you knew from the start...and no doubt it will be too late when they do.
